Following your travels with great interest, some good info and tips and photos. We are planning to leave U.K. in August and go fairly quickly through France and Italy to Bari then to Greece, returning via Romania etc.
Couple of questions if you don’t mind what is the situation re gas bottles, we use one French and one Spanish an are there many locations for cassette emptying?
Hi Chris, with regards to the gas we had a gas low system fitted. I know it’s £700 but I would who-heartedly recommend fitting. We have had no problem and no shortage of supply filling it up at petrol stations all over Europe. Greece is better than most in terms of choice. All I know about refillable bottles is that a friend of mine went travelling with a german bottle and said that all the threads for each country are different so the only way he could fill up was to jump into Germany, fill up and carry on. Needless to say the first thing he did when he got back to the UK was to fit Gaslow ( or gassit). As for cassette emptying that’s a bit more trickier in Greece but not unsurmountable . They don’t seem to have Aires or camperstops here, it’s either wild camping or campsites. We have asked petrol stations if we can use their outside loo if we buy petrol which seemed to go down ok and we have used public toilets and campsites. Hope this helps. Myles
