D.I.Y on the move…

I don’t care how well built your motorhome was when it left the factory, things are going to break, wear out and fall off. From week 1, when we found a very large crack in our toilet cassette ( and no idea how it got there),  we’ve had to mend things on the go. Here’s our video log of all the things that have needed either glue, matchsticks, duck tape or fibreglass to keep us going as we travel around Europe’s rich tapestry of mind blowing scenery.

Remis Blind fly chord replacement

Remis Blind fly chord replacement

How to replace your fly chord on your Remis Blind. Ours went on one of the rear blinds in our Pilote P740 so we had to attempt to replace it. With trepidation I took it off the wall and took it apart. You'll need gimp, yes GIMP ( that's what it's called) or...

No pressure in the kitchen tap

When the old adage bites you in the bum cos you just plain forgot it... K.I.S.S.  Keep it Simple Stupid is a wonderful little thing ( I'll call it a thing cos I've forgot the proprer word) that helps you to not over complicate things. Unfortunately if you forget it...

When a screw just keeps on spinning…..

Well I have to say, over the last 8 weeks poor old Scoobie has been rattled to his core thanks to the state of the Italian roads and as the weather has turned 'Biblical' I thought I'd do a bit of DIY..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Km9jEBPS53Q  ...

Thetford oven fix-part 2

If you've seen the first video on fixing a Thetford oven knob you will have noticed ( and kindly pointed out to me ) that I didn't actually show you what I did with the matches. I was so impressed and as my great grandaddy quite rightly taught me 'don't try and fix...

Fixing the oven knob

So, for some strange reason the knob on the oven that turns the gas on is just spinning round and doing nothing. It's not even six months old and it's broken. With no chance of getting to an oven shop to buy a new knob the challenge was on to fix it... It took me a...

Seriously not impressed with Pilote's idea of a make up bed in the lounge. After a couple of uses the brackets bent, twisted and came off so a 'fix' was required.... Oh and I don't know why Cadac don't put self levelling legs on their carry chef.........

Toilet cassette repair-part 2
