The Motoroamer’s Brief Guide to the Danube Delta

Did you know that the Danube is the second longest river in Europe, second only to the Volga?  Its source is in Germany and it runs through Austria, Slovaki, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova and Ukraine until its final destination at the Delta on Romania’s east coast .  Now that’s one hell of a game of Pooh Sticks!

The Delta (Delta Dunarii) is listed as a World Heritage Site is an ecological delight with huge rivers, lakes, dunes and swamps.  Bird watching is a joy here and the villages around the Delta is full of charm and character with their highly painted homes and thatch cottages.  This must definitely go on the Romanian ‘To Do’ List.
