Just north of Barcelona, about 40 mins by car is Monserrat, a Monastery set high above in the mountains. Built around 800 AD it has been a pilgrimage destination ever since. Destroyed in 1811 by Napoleon’s armies it has been rebuilt to it’s former glory and is well worth a day out to go and visit. Here’s the video….
