Time to make a bid for Freedom from the Matrix

Our freedom from the Matrix is quantified by the amount we are hooked into the system. Travel gives us access to be free from the ties that bind us, yet there are always mechanics that attempt to lock us back in. Social media is one of those hooks that we are drawn into, often without realising. Here are my reflections from an intense week where, after having my Facebook account hacked, I was dragged back into the matrix and away from our path of freedom and choice. I share my abstract thoughts on how we extract ourselves and move back to the things that matter most to us, our community and making a difference.

Our bid for freedom

Over 9 years, we have built the foundations of a magnificent house; a community that welcomes beautiful like-minded people to join us virtually on our travels.

Respectfully, some are lurkers, shyly hiding in the gardens, in the privacy of their own glorious anonymity, watching our adventures and dramas from afar. Others have joined us within the walls of our sanctum, interacting with us and, more amazingly with each other.

Friendships made, support offered, inspiration shared. And from within that metaphorical house, for many years we all enjoyed and were entertained by the fruits of our labour. And yet with all structures they eventually have their limitations, rigidity and their confinement.

Looking out from within those walls, I see the meadows beyond the gate that look so appealing and luscious. The wild flowers sway gently in the wind. The mountain backdrop offers the call for adventures and soulful experiences. Yet whilst the door is always open, somehow the restraining framework starts to hold us prisoner. The mechanics of the house, sheltering our travel family keep us trapped inside by its unseen rules of engagement.

Covid Quiz night

Although the amazing thing about community is that it exists beyond the mechanistic structures that we form. Clusters of energy that move in their own mysterious way; around us, within us, away from us, although always there. The house is not needed for us to exist together, only a willingness to co-exist.

Realisation of the power of our virtual community and its life outside of the house is liberating and allows us all to find our own dance with life. Free from its confines, we can play more adventurously amongst the grass meadows and tell tales of our adventures, together and apart.

The house always remains solid and a hub for all that has been created. A visit now and again is nourishing and enlightening. Yet it is outside of those walls where our freedom lies and where the whole community can be playful with the release they’ve ignited. Interacting in the same old way. Laughing in the same old way and yet moving with the joy that only freedom can gift us.

Whilst some of our community may leave us for pastures new, we wave them off with love and gratitude. For those who stay with us, you can continue to sit on the fringes of our new adventurous playground and watch from afar with our gratitude for being with us. And for those who chose to engage actively, you too are all treasured with every fibre of our travel beings.

Motoroaming community

Whilst the house may no longer be our daily hub, the world of freedom and adventure is, and a new way to come together will evolve and hold us together under the very ground we have created. A house needs foundations and walls to complete its identity. Our community does not. Our foundations are formed by our shared values, our inspiration and our connectivity, which are all we need to bind us together.

And so we commit to a new way of being, unencumbered and free to move, play, breathe and travel. The very reason we left the Matrix 9 years ago. We are coming home.

Hi I think it is meant to be . FB can be very intrusive . So thankful you are finding ways to continue this fabulous group . I’ve said before your writing is so inspiring . To the point the thoughts of true freedom echo in my mind again . As you say house’s will always demand time and energy ! And trap us ! This year we have certainly felt the freedom through travelling in our van . And we just want to do more and more.

        Best wishes

I’m sure the majority of your followers will migrate over 👍 xx

I’m obviously new to this too – so am I right in thinking I can’t see other people’s comments on your post ? And that I have to enter my name email every time I comment?

Hi Julianne, as I understand it you should be able to see other people’s comments too. Let’s test it out and see how it goes. And yes you will need to add your email each time. That is the only restriction of this process. I’m also checking out Substack, which looks right up my street. More on that when I’ve done more research. kx

    Well done Karen,
It’s sad that you have to make this change, however I’m sure many will make the change as it’ll be the most appropriate way of keeping in touch with you and your wonderful travels. Particularly with all the additional advice and information you share with us all.
    Thank you x

Hi Sue, yes it is sad although somehow liberating at the same time. I think though it will be a good solution for those who are genuinely interested in our offerings. So I think our audience will wane although that’s OK. I would much rather have the freedom to post what, when and how without Big Brother controlling who sees our content. x

Ah yes indeed. The FB house was, we’ve realised just a temporary abode and that our main dwelling was always here at the heart of our website. So my lovely hopefully with the click of that Blogttr button you should have your very own key to our home where you are welcome to come at all times of the day. Much love to you both. kx

Funny how I have , Queen’s record, I want to break free, playing in my head! 🤣 Seriously though, I’m really pleased you have found a way to keep in touch, FB was good when it started, but is rapidly going down hill in my humble opinion. My feed is clogged up with “Suggested Posts” which honestly have no relevance, and advertising for utter rubbish! It is a constant battle to keep getting rid of it. The only reason I stick with it is to keep in touch with friends and family across the globe. Good luck out in the meadows! xxx

😆 Brilliant, that’s the perfect rendition. Having broken free 9 years ago, it’s been interesting to see over the last couple of years, how FB particularly although other SM too, have surreptitiously drawn us back into the system, taking our focus from what truly matters. So I am actually grateful for this episode. It is said that the Universe gently guides you to where you must be and will continue to raise its voice until such time as you listen. Now I’m listening and if we can keep some of you with us, then that is the cherry on the top. ❤️ Here’s to Freddie. x
