Our new monthly feature for 2025; Ask us Anything; driven by 3 things; our desire to add value, a massive surge in followers over the last few months, plus we are approaching our 10th year living, working and travelling in Scoobie. Over the years, people have regularly got in touch with questions, so to make this a public feature, means everyone can benefit.
So, on the first Sunday of every month we will post a themed Ask us Anything, where we invite you to pose any burning questions you might have about that particular topic. We don’t intend to show up as experts; we do however want to share our experiences in an attempt to continue supporting our fabulous community.
Whether you are a newbie, old-hand, curious observer, early stage planner or dreamer, then this is the feature for you. If you would prefer to ask us privately, then by all means email or pm us. Of course we also welcome suggestions for future monthly themes too. You let us know what you would like to hear about, and we’ll schedule it. This month’s theme is about the lessons we have learned from 9 years on the road. Click the image to access our PDF summary.

Hi both, Just wondering if how your Bilbao to Rosslare crossing was as we are considering this for January next year. Clearly it can change on a sixpence but just interested to hear about your experience on the B of B. Thanks, Sue
Hi Sue. It was a brilliant sailing, if for no other reason that is was a lot cheaper than the Portsmouth route. In fact even with the purchase of our Rosslare to Fishguard sailing it was still cheaper. And there was far more availability with sailing, for us to fit in with our Schengen allowance than with the Portsmouth route. Now the crossing was a bit ropey from a few hours, although that could happen on any route and in 9 crossings over the years, it was the only one marginally rocky. We had a Club Classroom which gives you access to the ClubClass lounge for free, with all meals and wines included. So it is a really good value way of doing things, we think. And the final benefit is that there were so few people on the crossing, so we had the boat almost to ourselves. Hope that helps. Kx
