Fears cloud our decisions, our actions and our daily living. It seems to be a factor that we’ve had to adjust to. Yet I fundamentally believe that fear does not have to be an accepted part of life as it robs us of our freedom. Fear is just a thought and we can address those thoughts and move towards a life of freedom, peace and joy.
After we set off from living in a house to living in a motorhome, I had to work through so many of the fears that stopped us from living the life we deserved. Fears of having no address, fears about our health, mum’s health, what other people would think about us walking away from ‘normal’ life. Each one screamed at me so hard that it felt impossible to ignore.
Then in a heart-beat those fears quietened to a dull murmur, allowing me to say a resounding ‘yes’ to plans to travel for a gap-year. And if you know our story, then you’ll know that that soon morphed into a full-time life on the road. So I can honestly look back and see how destructive my fears were in optimising my potential and being completely happy. Thankfully, because of my day job – a personal coach and leadership trainer, I knew about fears and talked to people a lot about how they impacted on their lives. Now it was time to do it for myself.
